The Analytics section of Lantern contains some useful reports to help you better understand your business and how Lantern is playing a part in it.

General reports

Average order value (AOV)

This report calculates the average order values for different customer segments over the selected periods of time. Compare how much customers are spending on average between members, non-members, or different loyalty tiers in your loyalty program.

We calculate average order value in a given period of time with the following calculation:

Average order value = sum of order subtotals / number of orders

Customer lifetime value (LTV)

This report calculates the predicted lifetime value for customers in different segments over time. This will help you understand how much value your different groups of customers are, and how that is changing over time.

We calculate customer lifetime value up to a given period of time by looking at the average number of orders for each customer segment up until that time and multiply that by the average order value of those customers up until that point.

The calculation looks like:

Lifetime customer value = average number of orders per customer * average order value

Signups over time

This report will show you the number of customers who signed up for an account over time. It will also show which customers are signing up before their first order, signing up at checkout, or signing up after their first order.

This is a good way to see your signup actions and incentives are working and you can keep an eye on whether you are getting people to sign up earlier in the funnel.

Loyalty reports

Rewards redeemed

This report breaks down the loyalty rewards being redeemed and allows you to see which rewards are the most popular overall or per loyalty tier.

Referrals reports

Referrals over time

This report will show you the number of completed referrals in any given time period as well as the revenue and average order value generated by those referred orders.
