Wishlists

All Lantern plans include Wishlists. This feature allows your customers to save items they’re interested in for later purchase. Not only does this create a better shopping experience, but it also helps you build a base of signed-in customers—giving you more accurate data for marketing and customer insights. You’ll gain valuable data about customer preferences and potential demand, helping you make smarter inventory decisions.

Getting started

Adding wishlists to your store is a simple two-step process.

Set up your product page:

To add the Wishlist feature to your product page:

  1. In the Lantern extension editor, open the "Add to Wishlist” extension.

  2. Customize the appearance, set to active, and then publish.

  3. Go to your product page in the Shopify Online Store Editor and add the “Add to Wishlist” App block.

  4. Save your changes.

Set up the Wishlist menu:

Customers access their saved items through the Wishlist block in your Dynamic Account Menu:

  1. In the Lantern extension editor, locate your Dynamic Account Menu.

  2. Add the "Wishlist block" to the Dynamic Account Menu.

  3. Save and publish your changes.

Viewing Wishlist data

Track how customers are using wishlists through the Analytics section of your Lantern dashboard. We're starting with two key reports:

  1. Most wishlisted products - The products most added to customer wishlists

  2. Most wishlisted product variants - The product variants most added to customer wishlists

This data helps you understand customer interest and intent before purchase, enabling smarter inventory planning and marketing decisions.

Use wishlist data for marketing

Turn wishlist insights into targeted marketing opportunities. With Lantern's wishlist data, you can create personalized campaigns that connect with customers at the right moment:

  • Send notifications when wishlisted items go on sale

  • Alert customers when saved items are back in stock
